  • GOP Debates TONIGHT in Cleveland!
The Voters First Forum took place in New Hampshire on Monday, which provided a sneak preview of what we can likely expect in tonight’s debate. Fourteen of the 17 GOP presidential candidates sat down with host Jack Heath of New Hampshire Today. The questions ranged from foreign policy, to fiscal issues, to social issues, to the candidates’ viability and electability. The FOX News prime time debate from 9-11 PM tonight will feature the top ten candidates, as determined by five national polls. The candidates in tonight’s prime time debate will be: Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Chris Christie, and John Kasich.

The candidates not making the prime time debate will debate from 5-6 PM on FOX News. They include Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, George Pataki, Bobby Jindal, and Jim Gilmore.

  • Trump is #1 going into the debate.
According to several major polls out this week, Donald Trump is in the #1 spot among the GOP candidates.  And the numbers aren’t even close. Trump comes in at 24% and next is Jeb Bush with only 13%.  Walker is in third place with 10% support.  Among GOP voters, Donald Trump polls strongest on immigration and the economy, and 79% of GOP primary voters think Trump speaks exactly what is on his mind.  For more information about Trump’s surge, see: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cbs-news-poll-donald-trump-leads-gop-field-in-2016-presidential-race
  • How To Win a Political Debate
Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund general consultant Bill Pascoe, who also serves as Tea Party Patriots’ “Man in Washington,” published a how-to guide for political debates this morning at The American Spectator. Based on his more than 35 years of experience advising candidates – with an “too damn much” work done in debate prep, he says – he provides key insights into basic strategies for victory. • The Bushioisie Is Wrong About Ross Perot’s Impact in 1992.
Bill Pascoe also penned another interesting analysis for The American Spectator this week. In it, he sets the record straight about what impact Ross Perot had on the 1992 presidential election. Contrary to popular misconceptions and the Bushioisie’sdistortions of history, Ross Perot did not take votes away from George H.W. Bush as much as he took votes away from Bill Clinton. In other words, Ross Perot’s candidacy, far from robbing the GOP of the White House, may have actually spared George H.W. Bush a truly humiliating defeat. Action Item for Tonight:
Please help us persuade the FOX News debate moderators – Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly, and Chris Wallace – to ask the candidates tonight the following question on an issue of great concern to all of us at Tea Party Patriots:
“As a means to demonstrating your commitment to repealing ObamaCare, and your determination to have Congress live under the law the way it was enacted – that is to say, with no special treatment, because in America, no man is above the law – will you sign an Executive Order overturning the Office of Personnel Management’s 2013 ruling that allowed for the payment of illegal taxpayer subsidies to Members of Congress who purchase their health insurance from the D.C. Small Business Exchange?”
You can post that question on their Facebook pages or on their Twitter feeds:
