Pryor’s Amnesty Vote Transparent
Senator casts ‘sham’ vote to fool Arkansasans at election time, Martin says
ATLANTA, Ga. – After Democrat Sen. Mark Pryor’s phony amnesty vote last week, the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund (TPPCF) warned Natural State voters not to be fooled. “Sen. Pryor’s vote was cast as nothing more than a campaign trail talking point,” TPPCF Chairman Jenny Beth Martin said. “He only voted ‘aye’ when he knew the amendment would fail.”
Martin referred to a procedural amendment offered by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) that, had it passed by a simple majority, would make it possible to dismantle President Obama’s “DACA” program and begin deporting illegal aliens. The amendment failed on a 50-50 vote. “But as the Politico article points out, Sen. Pryor only stands for American sovereignty when it serves his own political interest,” Martin said. “The State of Arkansas will be able to see right through Mark Pryor’s sham.”
Senator Pryor tries to play up his bipartisan immigration bona fides with misleading campaign ads. Unfortunately, Senator Pryor’s voting record tells a different story. He helped kill Rand Paul’s border-security bill. And of course, supported the Gang of Eight Amnesty Bill.
“When real border-security bills were on the floor, Mark Pryor stood for Democrat party politics, not American sovereignty,” Martin added. “That’s an insult to the voters of Arkansas, who care about border security year-round, not just election time.”
